Summer is officially over. I should have realized that fact during the first snow. Or the second snow. Or perhaps when All of my flowers turned black. I desperately clung to the hope that my basil could last a few more weeks. No dice. Even after bringing it in to the house, hoping to coax a bit more time out of the growing season, my basil is giving up the ghost. I guess it's time to make pesto. Good thing I made roasted garlic today. Just need to toast a few pine nuts.
